Thank you for the detailed report in the description. With respect to the autofocus, it appears to be fast enough to function similarly to a parfocal lens. However, I'm curious about what would occur if the focus were set manually. Would it remain consistent on the subject across the entire zoom range, as a true parfocal lens would?

In case you're wondering (well, I was anyways...) I filmed a timer that counted centiseconds (1/100 of a second) and it looks like I get to about 7 seconds before the camera needs to "catch up" and skips some frames, then it resumes normal capture. This is using a 1667x Lexar card that can write at 250MB/sec. I'm going to test later this week with a card that can in theory do 300MB/sec to see if it's the camera or the card that prevents me from shooting the small normal jpegs forever. I'ma guess it's the camera, as 20 x 2 is 40 MB/sec and it seems like I can get much faster sustained write speeds out of this card. I will be tweaking settings and whatnot to see if I can get it to go higher. The other thing that makes me think it's the camera is there's no real change if I shoot in sports finder/crop mode, which defaults to Medium JPEGS with an average file size around 4 mb each. That's about 80 MB/sec and I still get about 7 seconds before it starts skipping frames. Then again, writing a bunch of individual files is more intense than blorbing out, say, a video file that just keeps growing to make one large file rather than a thousand or so small files. Will update with more info as I get it.

PC3k was and still is an incredible tool! I bought it recently because I was lucky it lay unpackaged in a music store for a long time, and I received the PC3K8 brand new and for relatively little money. Now I was also able to buy KORE64, German Grand D Extensions + RIP controller. Now I'm overjoyed. The only dilemma now will be to study the thick 460-page "black book". Although the most important thing for me would be to simply understand how to save the music being played to an USB flash drive or to a PC. And I still can't do it. And the other thing is why the stupid metronome is always ticking when recording (song+record), which bothers me. And how can I turn it off? 😢 Tanks!
